Welcome to the 11th Annual Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Festival—a week-long celebration of history, culture, and community pride in Arkansas’ first African American neighborhood.
This year’s theme, “Boots on the Ground – Lift Every Legacy,” is more than a motto—it’s a call to action. Together, we honor the trailblazers who came before us and work side by side to build a stronger, more vibrant future for the Dunbar Historic Neighborhood and beyond.
✨ Historic Walking Tours – Step back in time with guided tours of Dunbar’s historic homes and the stories of icons like Scipio A. Jones, Florence B. Price, John E. Bush, and others.
🙏 Church Tributes & Worship – Celebrate the spiritual heartbeat of the community with uplifting services and tributes.
🎶 Youth Showcases & Performances – Enjoy music, art, and talent from local schools and student groups.
👗 Cultural Arts & Fashion Show – For the first time ever, Dunbar brings style and heritage to the stage in a vibrant fashion experience.
🍴 Vendors, Food, & Local Businesses – Taste flavors of Central Arkansas and shop handcrafted goods that represent the spirit of the community.
🎤 Music, Dance, & Poetry – From gospel choirs to spoken word, feel the rhythm of Dunbar’s past and present.
💪 Health, Wellness, & Family Activities – Explore resources, fitness demonstrations, and fun for all ages.
🎉 Grand Festival Finale – Saturday, October 25th (2 PM – 7 PM): a day filled with performances, food trucks, vendors, and joyful togetherness right in the heart of Dunbar.

Dear Community Members,
Due to forecasted rain here in Little Rock, the 11th Annual Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Festival – Dunbar OktoberFEST 2025: Boots on the Ground – Lift Every Legacy will now be held indoors for everyone’s comfort and safety.
New Location:
Historic Dunbar Middle Magnet School

We’re thrilled to continue the celebration inside this beautiful and historic campus—home to some of Little Rock’s brightest young leaders and entrepreneurs!
All performances, vendors, and activities will take place as scheduled, featuring live entertainment, local food, and family fun throughout the day.
